Dyanoosh Youssefi is an Iranian-Jewish Canadian who escaped from Iran with her family in 1982, at the age of 11. She arrived to Canada several months later. She has lived in the ward with her young family for 13 years.

Dyanoosh is a professor, a former criminal defence lawyer, a writer (you can read some of her articles here, here, and here), and a social justice advocate. She is also a tireless volunteer. Helping others, building bridges, and working toward justice have been fundamental aspects of her character since a young age. Dyanoosh has volunteered consistently since the age of 14. She has worked with seniors, youth-at-risk, persons with mental health challenges and drug addictions, and immigrants. She volunteered for 4 years at a soup kitchen for the homeless. She has also served on the board of directors of Parkdale Activity Recreation Centre (as Governance Chair) and RESULTS Canada (as Governance Chair, Secretary, and Vice-Chair.)  She has volunteered in Israel and in Zimbabwe.

In 2015, Dyanoosh founded the non-profit All IN, to advocate for inclusive communities where everyone fully belongs and no one is left behind.

Dyanoosh ran for City Council in 2014, and was 800 votes short of the winner.
